![]() Statutory Sick Pay is the legal minimum employers must pay us when we’re off sick. It is currently £95.85 a week – less than a third of the £322.62 a week you’d be paid from minimum wage and just 19% of average weekly earnings of £512. We should all be able to take time off work when we are unwell. But those of us with mental health problems face a sick pay system that risks plunging us into poverty and pushing us out of work altogether. That's why we're calling for a modern sick pay system that’s flexible and fair. Almost one in two of us keep worries and concerns to ourselves, but a simple chat is a good way to be kind to your mind. That’s why we're partnering with McVitie’s to get the nation talking.
